We proudly report, that top-notch graduate programs in the USA as MIT, Stanford, Caltech, Berkeley, and others have accepted our undergraduates, after leaving our programs. After graduating with PhD and Master’s degrees, such prestigious institutions as the Los Alamos National Laboratory, NASA Langley, Oak Ridge, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, ATK, and many others, regularly hire our graduate students. Please see our Featured Alumi link on the left menu.

We have wired and wireless lecture hall, classrooms, and student lounge and 16 well-equipped teaching and research laboratories. We are continually upgrading our facilities for the benefit of our students and sponsors. Most importantly, a major capital campaign is underway for the construction of a new engineering building. We are all truly excited about the prospect of moving to a new facility in the very near future.

Our experienced, talented, and dedicated faculty are internationally recognized experts in various research and educational fields. We have two University of Denver John Evans professors in the Department. The rest of the faculty are either already equally established or rising fast to the same level of national and international distinction. We are fully committed to fulfill our obligations as effective university educators and successful researchers for the benefit of our students and sponsors.

Teaching Programs: Some of the programs are specific for our main mechanical and materials science disciplines. However, several of our teaching programs have been built in collaborations with other units of campus, namely the division of Natural Science and Mathematics and the Daniels School of Business, allowing our students to take advantage of the truly interdisciplinary educational nature of the University.

Our faculty maintain active and sponsored research programs in such areas as aerosol technology, biomechanics, fluid mechanics, instrumentation, materials science, mechatronics, nanotechnology, nondestructive testing, particulate mechanics, etc. University of Denver’s Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department recognized both nationally and internationally in:
• acoustic emission monitoring of materials and structures (Dr. M. A. Hamstad)
• DNA bioprocessing (Dr. C. Lengsfeld)
• X-ray diffraction (Dr. P. K. Predecki)
