Undergraduate
School Name:
Engineering & Computer Science
Department:
ENEE
Course Number:
2620
Prerequisites:
Description:

The study of Maxwell’s equations and their experimental and theoretical foundations. Topics include coordinate systems, Coulomb’s law, Gauss’ law, the electric field, conductors and dielectrics, plane wave propagation in unbounded and layered media, steady electric currents, the magnetic field and magnetic materials. Static and quasi-static electric and magnetic fields are presented as they apply to distributed parameters of capacitance and inductance. Electromagnetic fields in transmission lines and waveguides. Prerequisite for ENEE 2620: ENEE 2610 or permission of instructor.

Required for:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
