Biofluids Laboratories

The Biofluids laboratories investigate fundamental forces involved in fluid/particle flow for the delivery of pharmaceuticals. Specialized equipment include a state-of-the-art rheological measuring system for biological fluids, a respirator and mechanical lung, laser diagnostic systems for particle sizing and several innovative bioprocessing systems currently whose patents include undergraduate students. Several undergraduate students in addition to graduate students are typically involved in the labs research. An artificial heart system may be added to the laboratory in the near future.
