Engineering (dual Bachelor/Master degree for all programs)
This is a program leading to concurrent Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in ECE or MME in 5 years.
Bachelor and Master's degrees may consist of multiple program areas.
For example, students may pursue a dual degree with a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and a Master's in Mechanical Engineering during 5 years of study.
1. The required GPA for acceptance to this program is 3.2
2. Early in the Junior year, the student must plan a detailed program with its Undergraduate advisor and an appropriate Graduate advisor, showing how the two degrees are to be completed satisfactorily. This plan must be approved by both advisors and by the Associate Chair of the appropriate Department.
3. The student must apply for admission to the Graduate School and complete all requirements for acceptance with the exception of having already been granted a Bachelor’s degree.
4. If the Master’s degree desired is sufficiently closely related to the Bachelor’s degree, then up to 9 qtr hrs of courses that would have been applied to the technical electives for the Bachelor’s degree may be applied to the Master’s degree.
Very careful planning is required to pursue this option, and students should begin planning early in the third year. They must have completed the application, and have been granted admission by the Fall Quarter of the fourth year.
